Policies

At Supreme Education, we are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing, and highly personalised learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As an Alternative Provision school, we recognise that every learner has unique strengths and needs, and we deliver individually tailored support to ensure they thrive both academically and emotionally. We work with pupils across all areas of SEND, including those with and without an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring that every young person receives appropriate, targeted and meaningful support.

Our SEND Commitment

We are committed to:
• Identifying and assessing every student’s individual SEND needs at the earliest opportunity.
• Creating a nurturing environment that promotes confidence, independence, and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
• Providing tailored interventions and support to meet each learner’s specific requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.

How we support all areas of SEND

This includes:
• Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

How we support:
• Visual supports, structured routines, and clear communication strategies
• Social communication programmes
• Use of assistive technology
• Close work with speech and language therapists (SALT)
This includes:
• Moderate leaning difficulties (MLD)
•  Specific learning difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia
•  Significant gaps in learning due to disrupted education

How we support:
• Differentiated teaching and personalised learning pathways
• Small class sizes and targeted interventions
• Evidence-based literacy and numeracy programmes
• Adaptive learning resources and specialist tutoring
• Close monitoring of progress and regular reviews
This includes:
• Anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties
• Behavioural needs related to underlying SEMH challenges

How we support:
• Daily pastoral support, mentoring, and emotional coaching
• Strong behaviour support systems using a trauma-informed approach
• Safe spaces for regulation and calming
• Social skills groups and resilience-building programmes
• Work with CAMHS, social care, and therapeutic services
This includes:
• Hearing impairment (HI)
• Visual impairment (VI)
• Physical disabilities
• Sensory processing needs

How we support:
• Adapted materials, equipment, or classroom layouts
• Sensory-friendly spaces and sensory regulation tools
• Liaison with occupational therapists (OT) and physiotherapists
• Risk assessments and personalised access arrangements

Supporting Students with EHCPs

Supreme Education is experienced in working with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans. We ensure:
EHCP outcomes are embedded into daily teaching
Regular reviews and contributions to the annual review process
Multi-agency working with therapists, psychologists, and SEND case officers
Personalised timetables to meet each pupil’s needs
